Spot was Purchased with Skittle from La Bella Vista stud in Beechwood and she was in VERY poor condition. She was so skinny you could see and count every bone in her body. We pulled ticks off her and spent a good 4 hours detangling her tail as it was a rock solid dredlock. Her feet were very long and had to be trimmed immediately as she was having trouble walking. We started feeding her up with lots of hay and hard feed of a night, but she just wouldn't put on weight. So i got the dentist out as it was the only thing i could think of that would stop her gaining weight. The Dentist said that her back teeth had such large hooks she could hardly move her jaws to chew. She had never had her teeth done in her life.
After having her teeth done Spot started putting on weight very quickly. She is now looking gorgeous and rounded, and she has the most gorgeous nature, it makes you wonder how someone could neglect such a willing, and wonderful horse. I was told she was once registered but the old owner wouldn't pass on the paper work. If anyone knows her history please email me as i would love to know more!
Spot is approx 16yrs old, 40" Bay Leopard Appaloosa mare. The pics below are of her when i first got her, very skinny and hairy. But as you can see from the most recent pics she has come a long way.
Spot will be bred to "The Glebe Rio" for a 2012 foal.
